A small studio that owns its tools
Music is everybody's thing. SoundsGood2 exists so that anybody with words in a notebook — a birthday verse, a wedding chorus, the song you hum about someone — can hear those words sung back as a finished song.
Most song generators rent their plant from a supplier who can raise prices or switch them off. We built our own: Impromptune v1.0, our program wrapped around the licence-free ACE-Step model, tested until it sang our own briefs word-for-word to standard. Owning the plant is why a song here costs pennies of computing — and why the songs it makes are licence-free for the people who write them.
“Sounds good” is what people actually say when a song lands — it was said in our own studio, unprompted, the first time one of our songs pulled a teenager in from the next room. The 2 is the wink: sounds good, too — your words can sound good too. It is also a promise we grade every render against.
Your lyrics are the product; the engine never improvises words over them. Renders are checked against the brief before they are called finished. And we would rather show you three real songs than a page of adjectives — the samples are the engine's actual work.
